Abstract
This study investigates the Development of User interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design in a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to Enhance student’s engagement, usability and overall satisfaction. With digital E-learning platforms increasingly taking Center stage in learning environments, the research aims to resolve problems that are related to complexity in navigation, inefficient visual design and limited user interaction. Using a quantitative research approach, data was gathered from 100 BSIT students at the South East Asian Institute of Technology, Inc. through surveys and usability tests. The redesigned VLE was evaluated using key performance indicators, including the System Usability Scale (SUS), task completion rate, error rate, and average task time. The result showed high improvements in usability, as represented by a System Usability Scale (SUS) score of 82.5, coupled with accuracy at 84.0 and acceptability at 83.1. The rate of Completion also reached 95% with 5% as the error rate. These outcomes Highlight the importance of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) principles in E-Learning systems demonstrating how Optimized designs improvement can significantly improve learning experiences. This paper advances the HCI research area by demonstrating faactual evidence concerning the usability of enhanced User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design in virtual learning environments as well as providing practical implications for developers and educators seeking to maximize digital learning systems.
