Abstract

This paper presents the design of an electrically powered autonomous vehicle for campus and airport shuttle applications. It features a modular ladder-frame chassis for optimal weight distribution and an advanced autopilot system utilizing LiDAR, ultrasonic sensors, and cameras for real-time mapping and obstacle detection. A Central Control Unit (CCU) integrates sensor inputs with adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping systems for safe operation. The vehicle also includes safety redundancy via CAN protocols, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Regenerative Braking, and an optimized Battery Management System (BMS) for enhanced energy efficiency and performance. Simulations and tests indicate strong potential for urban transportation applications
