Abstract

Performance management mainly relies on human-managed systems such as annual reviews, manual data collection and qualitative assessments which is considered as a traditional form of human resource function. This research examines how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming performance management in Oman’s private sector companies. Using interviews and surveys, the study explores AI’s potential to create fair, more accurate and efficient evaluation systems. The private companies are still in the early stages, currently utilizing AI primarily in recruitment. The company recognizes AI’s benefits in reducing human bias and improving HR evaluation system. Private organisations who have successfully implemented AI across its performance review processes involves AI tools like Natural Language Processing, machine learning, and predictive analytics are used to evaluate employee performance, reduce bias in promotions, and provide real- time feedback.
